Why Vacation Rentals? 10 Benefits of Vacation Rental Homes- Part II

6. FREEDOM FROM CORPORATIONS

It is better that they have freedom to enjoy themselves without the constant worry of bothering others. In a vacation rental, you will want to be courteous of neighbors. However those neighbors are not behind paper thin walls. Perhaps you have an older family member who uses a wheelchair to get around.  This can be difficult getting them up and down stairs and elevators in a hotel or motel. In a private vacation rental, you may easily bring them into participation without obstacles. You can stay up as late as you like without bothering anyone, and if you need a midnight snack it is easy to access the refrigerator.

7. PARKING SITUATION

Often parking in a hotel is complicated, expensive, and far away from your hotel room. When staying in a vacation rental home, you are likely to have a garage, driveway, or parking right out front. For children and your older adults, the car right out in the driveway is a convenience. If you are staying in a hotel with a parking garage you
may have elevators, or stairs and parking tickets of which you will need to keep track. Parking right out front in the driveway is certainly convenient and will not be an extra charge.

8. WASHER AND DRYER

Most vacation rental homes come equipped with a washer and dryer. This is great for washing towels, robes, clothes, bathing suits, and children’s clothing. What a nice convenience requiring everyone to need to pack less, and also, making it easy to keep clothing fresh and clean on a daily basis. Most of the time, this is not an extra charge, and you will not need to take laundry home. This is a wonderful feature of staying in a vacation rental home.

9. AMENITIES

Vacation rental homes often provide amenities such as a WIFI, hot tub, private swimming pool, gym, tennis court, pool table, massage table (by appointment), large screen and multiple TV’s, and multiple master bedrooms. Many vacation homes come stocked with DVDs, books, beach towels, robes, condiments, and many other such convenient extras.

10. MULTIPLE BATHROOMS

What a benefit if you are traveling with a large group or extended family. Many vacation rentals have quite a few bathrooms. This is great for large groups who want to get up and out in the morning, or go out in the evening. You won’t have that line of people in a small hotel room waiting to use the bathroom.

A Few Disadvantages: No one venue is perfect. Vacation rentals come with a few disadvantages. Normally you will not have room service, daily maid service, or wake-up calls. These are typical hotel services not offered by a vacation rental. Vacation rentals also require a cleaning fee, which will need to be factored into the overall rate. Most vacation properties do not have concierge service. If you run out of toilet paper, you’ll need to go to the store and buy some more. If you use up all the towels, you’ll need to wash some, and you’ll need to wash the sheets if you are there for any length of time. These are all a small price to pay for privacy, space, freedom, experience — at a cost significantly less than that of a typical hotel room.
